Ringsted Museum
The museum takes its starting point from the uniqueness of Ringsted and tells the history of the town through the ages in both permanent and special exhibitions. In the archive you can delve into local history or perhaps find your relatives. Ringsted Windmill is next door to the museum and has the same opening hours. The mill still grinds grain on selected days – the grain is both local and organic.
If you wish to buy flour from the mill outside the museum's opening hours, it is possible to call and make an appointment with Morten Møller on telephone number: 20 22 51 91.
You can experience that
Visit our changing exhibitions, or take a seat in the cinema corner, where we show historical films from Ringsted.
You can also meet almost 2000 year old women from Kærup. They were buried together in a plank coffin approx. year 250.
In the museum's cozy children's corner, children can try their hand at making flour on the old hand mill. Or they can grind grain into flour on the grist stones – just like in the Stone Age.
