NEW ATTRACTION FOR
SCT. BENDT'S CHURCH

RING PLACE
MIDDLE AGES-
FESTIVAL
August 14 - 16, 2026

ABOUT THE PROJECT

In the middle of Zealand, Sct. Bendts Kirke rises up in the landscape, as an eternal symbol of power and wealth. The church stands as a witness to a bygone era, when strong knights, beautiful princesses and crusades to the Holy Land put lives and destinies at stake. After more than 800 years, the church is still a unique architectural work. As the first brick church in the Nordic countries, Sct. Bendts represents a turning point in Danish history.

Museum Vestsjælland opens up the story of the fantastic St. Bendts Church through a new major project that will pave the way for Ringsted to have a greater role on the cultural map of Denmark.

In close collaboration with Ringsted Municipality and Ringsted Parish Council, Museum Vestsjælland is working to create a new visitor center. We want to create a living place where stories of power, faith and craftsmanship are united in an experience for both children and adults.
