History, culture and exciting events
Ringsted Museum
The museum takes its starting point from the uniqueness of Ringsted and tells the history of the town through the ages in both permanent and special exhibitions. In the archive you can delve into local history or perhaps find your relatives. Ringsted Windmill is next door to the museum and has the same opening hours. The mill still grinds grain on selected days – the grain is both local and organic.
If you wish to buy flour from the mill outside the museum's opening hours, it is possible to call and make an appointment with Morten Møller on telephone number: 20 22 51 91.
You can experience that
Visit our changing exhibitions, or take a seat in the cinema corner, where we show historical films from Ringsted. See, among other things, the exhibition Ringsted - in short, which basically tells the city's history from antiquity to the present day.
You can also meet almost 2000 year old women from Kærup. They were buried together in a plank coffin approx. year 250.
The archive
Access to the archive is free. Tuesday at 11-16 we offer guidance in archive use. You are welcome to write an email to ringstedarkiv@vestmuseum.dk with your question and the information you have about the case. We respond to emails every Tuesday.
See all permanent exhibitions og special exhibitions.
The Museums Association
At Ringsted Museum we have a museum association. You can read more about the association, as well as which other associations can be found at Museum Vestsjælland's other departments, by clicking on the link below.
