ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The smell of bonfires and food spreads around St. Bendt's Church when we finally and for the ninth time hold the Ringsted Medieval Festival in 2026!

It will be a blast of a festival, and the square will be bustling with jesters, knights, musicians and merchants.

Look forward to fantastic fire shows, music and theater and let the children play in the family area Valdemars Værksted.

In the camp by the square you can look inside and see how people lived and worked in the Middle Ages.

Ringsted Middelalderfestival is a historical festival which is held in Klosterlunden in Ringsted city centre. The festival was first held in 2009 and has only grown bigger since then. The last festival was held in 2024, where around 15.000 happy guests passed by.

The festival is a collaboration between Museum Vestsjælland, Ringsted Municipality, clergy group and parish council at Sct. Bendts Church, local associations, local business, local volunteers and charities and the local press.

Many thanks to everyone who has helped with the financing – the Motzfeldt Foundation, the Bjarne Jensen Foundation, the Nordea-fonden local fund, the Sparekassen Sjælland Foundation, the Fire of 1848 Foundation, the Trelleborg Foundation and the Ringsted Museum Association.

FOR CHILDREN

There are several activities for children at the festival – you will find them all in the large family area, which we call Valdemars. Keep an eye on this page, where we will continuously update with activities.
