Bakkekammen 45 is Denmark's only interior museum for the movement Bedre Byggeskik. The museum is a former private home, located 10 minutes walk from Holbæk station. The house is the architect Marius Pedersen's own home in a residential area close to the water.
Marius Pedersen was behind 9 more houses on Bakkekammen, several other houses in Holbæk and several hundred in the rest of Denmark. He was one of the banner bearers behind the Better Building Practices movement. Bakkekammen 45 is very special because the interior has been preserved, as it looked at the architect's death in 1965.
The museum is only open for booked tours last Sunday of each month. Book a tour here.
You can experience that
Both from the outside and inside the house's cozy living rooms, you can experience the essence of Better Building Practice: Harmony, symmetry and quality expressed through solid craftsmanship.
På siden vestmuseum.dk/bedrebyggeskik/ you can go even more in depth with the house and the movement Better Building Practice.
Become a volunteer in the garden
