We are in the process of preparing a special exhibition with the artist Peter Martensen at Odsherreds Kunstmuseum, and in connection with this we have visited the artist himself!

We were behind the scenes when a portrait film was being shot to be shown in the exhibition.

The exhibition is called 'Diary from Tasilik', and the film crew was in full swing at the Martensen studio in Odsherred.

The studio is on the scenic property in Odsherred – called 'Tasilik', where Peter Martensen has had his home and studio since 2010. The name means 'by the lake' in Greenlandic and was given by polar explorer Knud Rasmussen, who spent time there.

The exhibition presents paintings, drawings and short films by Peter Martensen and is structured like a diary. Martensen himself describes his art as mental realist painting, something that 'appears realistic at first glance, but is actually about something mental'.

Peter Martensen's works hang in museums in Sweden, England and France - soon you can finally experience him at Odsherreds Kunstmuseum.

The exhibition opens on April 25th – and we are looking forward to it!
