Slagelse Museum
At Slagelse Museum you can experience Håndværkergaden from the first half of the 1800th century.
The entire 1st floor houses our new exhibition The Shadow Warriors, which you can read more about. here.
You can shop in the old grocery store, buy coffee and cake in the café or eat brought food in the Green Urban Space.
You can experience that
Step into Handvärkergaden, and go 200 years back in time in the crooked street with topped cobblestones and nearby houses. In the houses you can see different workshops with traditional crafts.
You can also follow in Hans Christian Andersen's young footsteps and see a Latin school, like the one he went to when he lived in Slagelse.
I the old grocery store from the 1940s-1950s, you can have a look into a time of scarcity of goods, in-kind economics and rationing brands.
The last Viking ship?
The Gislinge boat is one of the world's best preserved clinker-built boats.
from the transition between the Viking Age and the Middle Ages.
