Tour – St. Peter's Church, Slagelse

FB St. Peter's Church 1

Tour of the medieval St. Peter's Church in Slagelse. Hear about recycled building parts from Antvorskov Klosterkirke and about a holy priest.

The medieval St. Peder's church in Slagelse has been rebuilt many times. The oldest part was built before 1200, and in the 1300s the church was expanded with a choir and a north and south chapel. Part of the church's furniture is recycled from Antvorskov Klosterkirke, i.a. baptismal font. The church porch was added in the 1400th century.

Hear the fascinating story on this tour. Also get the story of one of the church's former priests, Saint Andrew, who, according to tradition, was helped by an angel to return home from his pilgrimage to Jerusalem. According to the signatory, Saint Anders is buried in the northern chapel.

It is necessary to buy a ticket in advance.
