Tour of Antvorskov Klosterruin

Antvortskov Monastery

Love ruins? Then join us on a tour of Antvorskov Klosterruin with fantastic stories about the place's great importance in the Middle Ages.

Antvorskov Klosterruin was back in the early Middle Ages a fully functional and modern Johannite monastery. The ruin still contains remains of Denmark's best-preserved hall house and remains of the monastery church, which was once one of the largest in the country.

The monastery closed in 1580, and was taken over by the king, who built his new castle on the site. Here he could spend the night when he was on the road between Copenhagen and Jutland.

The tour is not suitable for people with walking difficulties.

It is necessary to buy a ticket in advance.
