Annebjerg Stræde 1, 4500 Nykøbing Sj
Get up close to the medieval buildings and their unique history on a city walk focusing on medieval Kalundborg Højby.
Højbyen in Kalundborg is one of the best-preserved districts in Scandinavia from the Middle Ages. The area includes the unique five-towered Church of Our Lady and a stone house which has had many functions over the years, for example a hospital.
The city walk starts at the Kalundborg Museum with a look at the model city and the crusade tapestry with a story about the city and its founder, Esbern Snare from the Hvideslægten.
We will pass the ruins of Esbern Snare's castle, the church and the stone house and we will come very close to the fine details that characterize the construction practices of the Middle Ages.
It is necessary to buy a ticket in advance.
