The special exhibition Carmen curlers – staged opens on 15 October

When the exhibition Carmen curlers – staged opens on 15 October, you can take a trip back in time to the swinging 60s. Meet the first women who put their hair up, put on blue coats and went to work in the brand new factory. An exhibition that brings you very close to the real carmen. A company that really understood how to stage itself!

Experience a reconstructed, nostalgic and period-typical home and follow the changes brought about by the woman going to work. Experience Arne Bybjerg's office, the factory and hear stories from the women who worked there.

Let yourself be carried away by the nostalgia of the blue bathroom, the many gifts from her new workplace and the sleepovers from the modern Mallorca holidays with the Tjæreborg priest.

Join her in the office. Past Bybjerg – or Byvang, as DR1 calls him in the series that is running right now.

Take a tour of the factory floor and see what everyday life was like. With the coffee in the colorful plastic cups, the ashtrays by the machines and all the gossip you can get over a monotonous production. And not least how many strikes the ladies managed to instigate in the fight for more equal pay.

Get absorbed in Carmen's advertising universe and hair salon, and take a Carmen hairstyle selfie in our Carmen mirror or advertising cut-out.

The exhibition can be seen in museum opening hours.
