First sod turned – the archaeologists were there
In Høm near Ringsted, new houses are to be built, and archaeologists have been working on the site for a long time. Now they are finished and the foundations are to be sold!
Interested buyers could meet Museum Vestsjælland's archaeologists at a very special 'first sod turning' event and hear what has been found on their exact plot.
In the area, they found both a special female grave and several buildings that may date back to the Bronze Age and the Late Roman Iron Age.
The archaeologists showed and explained all this to a very interested buying public.
It's exciting to know what was hidden in the ground right where you are going to build your new dream home.
Ringsted Mayor Andreas Karlsen had the honor of turning the first sod.
