Visit Holbæk Museum and hear the guide tell the story of the 900-year-old Gislinge Boat and the Langöe Boat – a faithful full-scale replica of the Gislinge Boat, which is on display in the museum garden for a short period.
The guide is here from 11 am to 15 pm, and he will tell you vividly about the two unique boats – completely free of charge once the entrance fee has been paid!
Inside the exhibition The last Viking ship? The Gislinge boat is exhibited in a huge display case. An atmospheric staging with light, sound and video brings the boat's history to life. Experience the exhibition and hear the guide tell the fascinating story of the discovery of the real wreck.
Outside in the museum garden you can take a closer look at what the boat looked like – here is the Langöe boat, which is on loan to Holbæk Museum. It is seven meters long and looks exactly like the Gislinge boat once did. It was built at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde and is a fascinating sight.
The loan is made possible through a collaboration between the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde and Museum Vestsjælland.
