Boeslunde – the key to Denmark's cradle
Boeslunde is a very special location between Slagelse and Korsør. The thousands of detector finds from here testify that the place had a completely unique function and a special position.
It is especially the discovery of as many as four golden old patricians that makes the place special, as such a concentration is not known anywhere else. In combination with the other finds, several treasure finds and a site continuity from the Bronze Age, Boeslunde occupies a key position in the Iron Age and Viking Age. However, thorough analyzes of the enormous material are lacking. It includes registration and reclassification of the detector finds, digitization of older excavations and new investigations to reveal halls and production areas.
When this basic processing of the material is in place, Boeslunde can fully enter the battle for Denmark's cradle. That is the intention of this project, which is in its infancy.
