Experience works from the Odsherredsmalerne at Odsherreds Art Museum in a tour with the theme: Into the Darkness – Dark Painters and the Light of the Landscape.
Now we are entering the dark months, and with them the love of the Dark Painters returns to the halls of Odsherreds Kunstmuseum. We delve into a thematic exhibition of works from our permanent collection of paintings by the Odsherredsmalerne – with a few surprises that have not been hung for a long time.
The Odsherred painters were a number of artists, primarily painters, who in the 1930s sought out and settled in the dramatic landscape of southwestern Odsherred.
The Odsherred painters were often called dark painters because of the dark, subdued color scheme in their paintings.
Impressive landscapes and motifs painted in earthy tones with a darkness that inspires reflection.
As the artist colony in Odsherred progressed, the color scheme of the works, like the times, became lighter.
Be sure of a place for the tour and buy a ticket in advance. Remaining tickets are for sale at the door.
