The gardens behind Slagelse Monastery and Slagelse Museum are connected, and they form a large, green area with old, tall trees and a rich birdlife. Svend Erik Andersen lives inside the monastery, and he has photographed the beautiful and colorful birds. Here are a total of 16 nice, small pictures of the birds in the gardens. Both well-known and lesser-known species, for example, blue tit, robin and green tit, monk and chaffinch!
The photos were taken throughout the year and show the birds up close.

The exhibition tells a little about the peculiarities of the birds, and with the pictures we would like to show how many beautiful birds can live in the middle of a city if we take care to preserve green areas.
The Slagelse Museum garden is open to the public – while the monastery garden is private. We share the birds!
The exhibition is also a neighborly collaboration! Both birds and people live next door, but don't necessarily know each other.
Once you've seen the pictures, you can take a walk in the garden and see if you can spot the birds yourself.
