Experience the museum's large collection of Ole Bruun-Rasmussen's puppets and scenographies at Holbæk Museum.
The audience comes to us from the "real" world, with all that entails of clutter and confusion. We must slowly make them experience our orderly and strict world as more real than the one they came from. ”
Ole Bruun-Rasmussen has worked with puppet theater since 1966. In 1973 he started "Puppet-Mime Theater", which later became "Dream Mirror". His performances are entertaining, have an attitude to everyday challenges and put the audience on the hunt for the unknown. The theater is often wordless, instead music, light and sound effects are used to create narrative and mood. Ole Bruun-Rasmussen's fantastic production of beautiful, whimsical puppets and scenographies has given him international success.
Regarding the expression of his dolls, Ole Bruun-Rasmussen writes that they should “look good”. “Not beautiful like a photo model, but beautiful by virtue of its simplicity. A kind of beauty of simplicity, you could call it. Even a villain or a monster should have this kind of Beauty.”
See the exhibition and let the dolls speak for themselves for inspiration and joy. The puppet theater is the theater of the doctor, the theater of the imagination, the theater where the impossible can happen.
