Application

Roman nettle is not as tall as common nettles, but it burns the skin more when you touch it.

Nettles have been used as medicinal plants since ancient Greece. The most common use has been for arthritis. People rub fresh nettles on areas of the body that are affected by arthritis. The increased blood flow and heat are said to provide relief from arthritis.

Nettles are rich in vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin C and iron. They are used in blood-purifying spring cures and against asthma. Nettle tea is diuretic and is also said to have an effect on prostate disorders.
