Application

During the plague epidemics in Europe, wormwood was one of the main remedies for protection against the plague. In addition, the plant was used against tuberculosis, coughs and bronchitis. Wormwood also had a reputation for being a universal antidote for poisoning. More non-specifically, Wormwood was used against inflammation both internally and externally.

In folk medicine, yarrow has been used to treat hemorrhoids, bronchitis, and intestinal parasites.

Licorice is still used in herbal medicines in Germany for respiratory disorders, intestinal worms, and hemorrhoids.
