Application

Fenugreek seeds have a diuretic effect. The seeds are also reputed to help with intestinal worms. They are expectorant. They have been used in folk medicine against cancer and warts, as well as depression.

Klinte should not be used as a herbal medicine. The plant is poisonous. Klinte was previously a common field weed, and a high content of klinte seeds in the grain previously regularly gave rise to poisoning.

Crushed seeds have been used for washing, especially of wool. It had a bleaching effect, making the wool whiter while also being spun.
