Application
The plant has a strengthening effect on the heart and circulation. No longer used as the effect is extremely difficult to control. The bark has been used as an emetic. Crushed plant parts have been used externally for rheumatism and cramps.
Being studied for effectiveness against certain types of cancer.

Coronilin, hyrcanoside, daphnoretin, scopoletin, and umbelliferone.
