Application

Roman Chamomile has a milder and more aromatic scent and flavor than Fragrant Chamomile, which is often used as chamomile tea.

The effects of the different types of Chamomile are, however, quite similar. Chamomile has a calming and disinfecting effect. Chamomile tea has a positive effect on nausea, poor digestion and loss of appetite. It is also antispasmodic and mildly analgesic. It can relieve colic, stomach cramps and other cramping pains. It helps to normalize digestion by stimulating the secretion of gastric juice and relaxing the intestinal muscles.

Chamomile tea can be used to treat red baby bumps and conjunctivitis in young children. Chamomile tea with honey is also a mild-tasting and effective remedy for colds, sore throats, and coughs.

Chamomile extracts are used in cosmetics and personal care. In shampoos it gives strong hair with a beautiful shine. Used in creams it inhibits pimples and has a soothing effect on itching and eczema.
