On drink in Danish history - West Zealand Special

Cultural heritage researcher and beer and West Zealand connoisseur Andreas Bonde Hansen, presents an alternative Danish and West Zealand history told with beer.

Beer has been man's faithful companion since the Peasant Stone Age. Beer represents cultural encounters, technological development, business and politics. In the beginning, all beer was sour and smoked. Also in West Zealand. But to the fat West Zealand lands came French monks, German merchants, kings and nobles. They made and drank beer, all the while making West Zealand a northern European center of power. You can therefore tell a Danish and West Zealand history with beer.

Through a series of tastings of the region's best beer, Andreas Bonde Hansen makes us remember the most important events in history through our taste buds.
