Hiking at Ringsted Cemetery

On a walk through Ringsted Cemetery, we stop at graves of famous and unknown people who have in common that they have been connected to Ringsted. The cemetery is a green oasis in the city. Here is peace and quiet, memories and longing. And many stories.

On the tour we hear about some of the human destinies hidden behind the tombstones and gain insight into their life stories.

Ringsted Cemetery was opened in 1840 and was planned at the time to have 3777 burial places. Since then, the cemetery has been expanded several times, so there are now around 6.500 burial places.
