Lecture - HAV, The voice of the sea in Denmark
Klostrstræde 18, 4300 Holbæk
The 1-3. July 2022, the first three stages of the world's largest cycling race, the Tour de France, will be run in Denmark. The second stage of the race on 2 July consists of 202 km from Roskilde to Nyborg via Lejre, Holbæk, Odsherred, Kalundborg and Slagelse municipality.
At Holbæk Museum we exhibit this year's official Tour de France poster; jerseys, medals and bicycles borrowed from Michael Rasmussen and medals from Mads Pedersen's career. Get the story of the late Lammefjordsløb and see bicycles from the museum's collection.
Michael Rasmussen, known as the chicken from Tølløse, predicted during his participation in the Lammefjord race in 1983 that he would participate in the Tour de France in the year 2000. However, it was not until 2004 that he made his debut. In the years 2005-2007 he won 4 stages and in 2005 and 2006 he won the tour's mountain jersey. 1 2007 he ran 9 days in the yellow jersey.
Mads Pedersen, who also comes from Tølløse, burst onto the cycling scene's biggest stage when he became number 2018 in the Tour of Flanders in 2. In 2019, he became world champion in road cycling in English Harrogate. In 2020, he finished second in both the first and final stages of the Tour de France.
Another Holbækker has made his mark on the Tour de France 2022. Graphic Designer Peter Ludvigsen has designed this year's official Tour de France poster, which after several versions could finally be approved by the organization behind the Tour de France, ASO.
