The last Viking ship?Ongoing
Klostrstræde 18, 4300 Holbæk
During the summer holidays at Slagelse Museum, you can write messages in codes that only the intended recipient understands, just like resistance fighters did during World War II.
In the coding workshop you can write your own codes – the easy codes are, for example, postcards, where the motif itself was the message – and the text on the back was just a game for the gallery. The messages could, for example, be meeting places for collecting things or people – or cancellations of appointments.
In the workshop there is a stack of postcards with pictures on them and on the back you can write to, for example, Aunt Oda that the strawberry season has started, or wish Uncle Ib a happy birthday...
Hang the cards on a bulletin board so others can see what you have written or take the cards home.
Also create codes where the recipient of the message is told, for example, that the drop-off is expected to be carried out as agreed or that the meeting place is the bench in the park by the lake on Thursday at 800:XNUMX AM.
The coding workshop is for the whole family.
It is free to use once the entrance ticket has been paid. Children under 18 have free entry.
The coding workshop is open in the museum's regular hours. opening hours during the summer holidays. The workshop is not staffed; there are instructions to get you started.
