Tour - Art's journey from the Odsherred painters to contemporary art with Mette Vangsgaard.
The Odsherred painters were a number of artists, primarily painters, who in the 1930s sought out and settled in the dramatic landscape of southwestern Odsherred. With artists Karl Bovin (1907-85) and Kaj Ejstrup (1902-56) at the head, the group managed to put naturalistic painting back on the agenda.
Mette Vangsgaard (born 1968) creates works of art in a wide range of materials. In the exhibition helium, she works with ceramics and glass, among other things - and she has also produced stop-motion films.
The themes of the exhibition are rural life and the instability and uncertainty that characterizes the changing times we live in. The motifs are everyday scenes and wildlife and plants that are site-specific for Odsherred and West Zealand.
