Mindful Christmas tour at Malergården

Experience Malergården in a new way and get right into gear. Begin the Christmas season with relaxation and reflection and strengthen the ability to be in the moment and slow down. With inspiration from mindfulness and Slow Looking, we immerse ourselves in the many details of the atmospheric home.

Experience a guided, mindful tour of the artists' home that once belonged to the Swane family.

We begin with a relaxing exercise focusing on slowing down the body and mind in one of the house's many atmospheric rooms. Here we sit down, so please wear some warm clothes and maybe a small blanket.

Then we immerse ourselves in the colors, shapes and impressions of a work of art through guided slow observation exercises.

We also move on to other parts of the fascinating house, where we listen to Henrik Swane's diary passages about Christmas at Malergården and breathe life into the history and imagination.

After the tour, there is an opportunity to talk with the guide about the experience and the history of the artists' home. There is also the opportunity to buy apple slices, coffee and other refreshments in the museum's café.

The event is part of Museum Vestsjælland's development work in connection with Museum Vestsjælland's participation in the project From Challenge to Opportunity Immersion in art and culture as a means of promoting well-being. A collaboration between the Frederiksberg museums, Frederiksborg Castle, Skagen's Museums, Trapholt, Esbjerg Art Museum and Museum Vestsjælland. The project is supported by the Augustinus Foundation, the Tryg Foundation and the Susanna and Pouline Olesen Foundation.
