Christmas textiles in beautiful colors have appeared at Holbæk Museum as part of a huge donation of textile designer Lis Paludan's work.
Lis Paludan is one of the most productive textile designers in this country.
Her works are very recognizable and in the 1970s helped to create a new style within needlework, among other things because for Lis Paludan she used color combinations that were very sensational at the time. Red, pink and orange put together was not something you were used to seeing, but the colors are important in Lis Paludan's universe.
Lis Paludan lived in Birkerød, but now aged 90 has moved to a nursing home and put aside pencil and crochet hook because her hands no longer want to, and has therefore chosen to donate hundreds of her things to Holbæk Museum.
The donation contains many of the things that filled her study: Materials, models, books, drafts and pages from magazines that published her work, a series of folders and analyses, as well as work samples.
Until 19 December, you can explore the various houses at Holbæk Museum and see the small fine exhibitions of Lis Paludan's things around. In addition to Christmas decorations and Christmas calendars, you can also see crocheted hats as well as vests, shawls and capes.
The museum's volunteer garden guild has been busy decorating with greenery. They have collected spruce, pruned branches in their own gardens and created fantastic decorations, so again this year the museum is nicely decorated with spruce, decorations and decorations inside and out.
