Marine nature in Denmark is under pressure. The independent think tank HAV works for a clean and healthy ocean. Hear about the think tank's activities in this evening's lecture.
Pollution from nutrients, environmentally hazardous substances, fishing and rising sea temperatures are putting pressure on the Danish marine environment.
The HAV think tank is independent, knowledge-based and solution-oriented in relation to the best solutions for the sea. The goal is a clean and healthy sea, which is used sustainably, e.g. in offshore installations – offshore wind, energy islands and infrastructure.
In this lecture, program manager for HAV, Ditte Mandøe Andreasen, will talk about the think tank's work, which activities are putting pressure on the Danish sea, and what can be done to improve it.
She is joined by Nanna Meilholm Christiansen, who is a student assistant in the think tank. Nanna will talk about her own path to dealing with the marine environment and about the think tank's large-scale project "The Great Eel Grass Initiative". Here, volunteers throughout Denmark plant eelgrass in the sea along the Danish coasts to restore nature and collect knowledge on how best to do it.
Be sure of a place and buy a ticket in advance. Remaining tickets are for sale at the door.
The lecture is a collaboration between Holbæk Museum, Coastal Life Holbæk, Maritime and Maritime Crafts, the National Museum.
