Kalundborg Museum invites you to a series of lectures on film history. Hosted by Anne-Mette Pedersen, BA in Film and Media Studies.
Today's theme: Enemies and friends.
What's worse? Communists or aliens? Does sitting too close to the TV make you stupid? Should we try those glasses again?
We take a closer look at TV's influence on the film medium, at some of the genres we know today, and at the new forms of film distribution.
The theme is part of a series of five lectures on film history from the first photos to CGI, from Lumière to Eggers. We will discuss film as a medium and how technology and contemporary times have influenced the development of film. The individual lectures are independent of each other.
We provide refreshments and good cheer.
Today's host: Anne-Mette Pedersen, BA in Film and Media Studies, University of Copenhagen. She has worked in film and television production and theater.
She says about herself:
I love film history most of all, because here, through the technical development of the medium, we can witness everything from fact to fiction. Images, like so much else, stand on the shoulders of everything that came before. The communication of our shared experience changed forever when images became film, and that is the core of my fascination.
The lecture lasts 2 x 45 minutes divided by a break and there is time for discussion and questions at the end.
Price: 90 DKK. Member of a museum association in Museum Vestsjælland: 65 DKK.
Ticket includes soda/coffee/tea and snack.
It is necessary to buy a ticket in advance.
