Lecture - HAV, The voice of the sea in Denmark
Klostrstræde 18, 4300 Holbæk
Decoupage – make a decoupage box to store memories in. Decoupage is a French word that means to cut or cut motifs out of, for example, a book.
We start in the museum's klunkroom and hear stories about how people in the old days collected memories and kept them. It could be a coin from a trip, a lock of hair from a girlfriend or a nice stone from the beach. After the stories (10-15 minutes) we have to decorate our own box to collect memories in. We do this with beautiful clippings from illustrated recycled books.
In the creative workshop, boxes, glue, scissors and books are ready for use. The technique we will use is called decoupage. It originates from China and came to Europe in the 1700th century and around 1800 the technique became popular in Denmark.
Take your own box home.
Be sure of a seat and purchase tickets for the activity in advance.
