New podcast from Museum Vestsjælland

Detector findings, anarchy and power - a West Zealand Ph.D.

Listen to our latest podcast, where museum inspector and archaeologist Trine Borake talks about her work with the PhD No man is an Island. Trine has examined a large amount of the many, many metal detector finds that volunteer detector enthusiasts have found in West Zealand over a number of years. What image emerges of the late Iron Age, Viking Age and Middle Ages when walking where the people of the province lived? Out there in the small villages.

It is a story about anarchy and power - and networks and communities - because just as most West Zealanders today would like to decide for themselves, so would the early people. Trine Borake thinks she can see signs of this through her many studies.
