Museum inspector Jesper Sejdner Knudsen is retiring

After 17 years of employment at Odsherreds Kunstmuseum and Malergården, Jesper Sejdner Knudsen resigns from his position, which he has held since December 2004. Jesper was hired shortly before Malergården opened as a publicly accessible artists' home museum. Therefore, it was important to keep the focus on developing the two departments: the Art Museum in Asnæs with the Odsherred painters' art and the Swane family's artist home Malergården, in Plejerup.

The two departments have complemented each other as Malergården quickly got suitable facilities for café operations as well as lectures and meetings, while the Art Museum in Asnæs had space and facilities to show frequently changing exhibitions.

After the formation of Museum Vestsjælland and the merger with the cultural history museums in 2013, Jesper's area of work has also been collaborating with the other departments on art history topics, such as the artist group Røde Mor's art policy work, on Vestsjællands Vejr and on the Golden Age painter Johan Thomas Lundbye's connection to Northwest Zealand.

Jesper has also collaborated with external partners on art historical crossroads - thus for more than 10 years with Odsherred Theater under the heading CONVERSATION WITH THE PAST and with Geopark Odsherred and Odsherred Provsti with the title: CHURCH, ART AND LANDSCAPE.

Museum Vestsjælland will hold a farewell reception on 12 May at 15-17, at Odsherreds Kunstmuseum, Asnæs.

Everyone is welcome.
