As a volunteer, you can sign up for one of three groups:

– Stalls and sales

– Valdemar's Workshop

– Space and design

Each group does an invaluable job for the festival and helps ensure that our guests have the best experience when they visit our venue.

If you would like to volunteer, please send an email to festival@vestmuseum.dk. Remember to include your name, phone number and which volunteer group you would like to participate in.

STALLS AND SALES
This group of volunteers helps to look after and run the festival's own sales stalls. This includes both food and drink stalls, but may also include other stalls selling things on behalf of the festival.

In this group you will help with everything from handling our draft beer system to dispensing, ensuring that the stalls' stocks are full and getting new supplies as well as receiving and handling payment from the guests in the stalls. There is also the opportunity to help out at the grills, where the food we produce ourselves is heated. You can also become part of helping with the catering for the other volunteers, if necessary.

The group is therefore an essential part of being able to offer food and drink to our guests and volunteers on the square, and a large part of the income from these stalls helps to secure the festival's financial basis.

VALDEMARS WORKSHOP
In this group, you help develop and run our fantastic children's area, Valdemar's Workshop.

In the group, you can help develop ideas for activities and the entertainment that will take place in the children's area. This group works under great autonomy and is a good opportunity for, together with the other volunteers, to have a freer hand in relation to how you think a good children's area could look. Naturally, the festival reserves the right to make objections, but we have great confidence that the group can solve the task themselves without our interference.

Participants in Valdemar's workshop must agree that the festival is obliged to obtain a child certificate from the volunteers in order for them to participate in the workshop.

SPACE AND DESIGN
In this group, it is especially in the days leading up to the festival that you get to put in your work. Therefore, it is not expected that you will necessarily be able to participate on the festival days themselves in this group, although there will also be tasks on the days themselves.

The group is responsible for helping to build and design the space so that it looks good when the guests arrive. These are both the more physical craft tasks and the more detailed design tasks involved in preparing a large festival site.

In this group, you can both get the opportunity to help give the festival its aesthetic expression and bring ideas for construction to the stage. It is also in this group that you can let your inner craftsman free, when in the days leading up to the gathering of stalls, and everything else. If you are more into light crafts, there are plenty of tasks to decorate stalls and the square in general. During the days when the festival is running, the group helps to ensure that everything works and possibly make repairs along the way or help find solutions to things that might not work as intended.

The group is the best chance to really come in and make your mark on the expression of the festival, you are allowed to be creative and can have a lot of freedom under responsibility, if the ideas are good and you know how to work within the themes.

THE ANNUAL GROUPS
In addition to the three groups, we also have a few annual groups that you can sign up for as a year-round volunteer.

For example, the costume group, which sews and maintains costumes and other things that need to be sewn for the festival.

If there is something you would love to help with, but is not described here, please write to festival@vestmuseum.dk and we will be happy to see if we can help find a way for you to help with what you want. However, we do not guarantee that it will be successful in all cases, but we strive to ensure that everyone who wants to help is allowed to do so.
