Follow the Vikings

The “Follow The Vikings” project consists of a network where 15 partners from eight countries collaborate on dissemination, branding and marketing of Vikings worldwide.

Within the same project, Museum Vestsjælland is also involved in THE VIKING ROUTES

The Viking Route is one of the Council of Europe's more than 30 cultural routes that connects people and places in networks of common history and cultural heritage. It represents a non-linear thematic network. In 2017, the Viking Route is comprised of 63 members in 15 countries.  

Museum Vestsjælland is a member of the organization Destination Viking Association - DVA which in 2012 was certified by the Council of Europe as the official operator of the cultural Viking route.

Certificate The Council of Europe's cultural path is a guarantee of excellence. The European cultural routes offer a wealth of leisure and educational activities for all citizens throughout Europe and beyond, and they stand as a guarantor of responsible tourism and sustainable development. They cover a variety of themes, from architecture and landscape to religious influences, from gastronomy and intangible heritage to the great figures of European art, music and literature.
