ME & MY CITY – Odsherred Museum

The children's exhibition ME & MY TOWN

Crawl through Odsherred's sewers and investigate what archaeologists have found down there under the cobblestones. You can also serve sausages to your grandfather in the market square or build a clockwork out of brightly colored "candy cogs" in the shop. Maybe you'd rather climb into the Skygningerne's sardine can bed and relax while mom reads aloud from the story of the Skygningerne. The possibilities are many in MIG & MIN BY, where you can explore Odsherred's history mixed with the imaginative universe of children's book author and illustrator Rasmus Bregnhøi.

The exhibition and the story of the Shadows and the city that unfolds in the museum are inspired by children. Secret treasures underground, shops with everything the heart desires, delicious food, and animals in long tracks are important in the children's city, but of course also the home where they live with their families. The museum provides the historical perspective, and with the help of the children, objects have been selected from both the museum's cache and the children's.

The exhibition is particularly suitable for children aged 2-8, but everyone can get something out of visiting MIG & MIN BY. "When I was a child" makes you want to say and share your story with the younger generations. If the children or grandchildren need extra time for play and immersion, you can take a break and watch from the sidelines.

The exhibition was developed together with local kindergartens and the Varde Museums, and has been touring Denmark since 2020. Museum Vestsjælland is the project manager for MIG & MIN BY, which is supported by Nordea-fonden. The story of Skygningerne is written and illustrated by Rasmus Bregnhøi.

In connection with the exhibition, a book has been created that contains a fairy tale, drawn and narrated by Rasmus Bregnhøi, as well as ideas for activities that can be done in kindergarten or school. The activities are based on the city and the exhibition's themes and are based on the kindergarten curriculum themes. Kindergartens and schools that visit the exhibition can take home a book.
The book can also be read here.

The exhibition is built by Bureau Detours.

The exhibition can be experienced at Odsherred Museum in the museum's opening hours.
