Guided tour of Næsholm – armed to the teeth and prepared for war!

In Odsherred is Nygård Sø with the small island Næsholm.
A small natural gem waiting to be discovered. In the Middle Ages, a powerful castle stood here on the island - strongly fortified with a drawbridge, palisades and a high tower.

We don't know who lived here, but it was a man with power, money, and plenty of armed men at his disposal.
The ruins of the castle can still be seen on the island today.

Traces of a violent fire indicate that the castle was destroyed after a siege by King Valdemar Atterdag in the 1340s. The guide is our own castle expert, who will take you on a tour of the ruins while he talks about the castle and answers questions.

Unfortunately, the trip is not suitable for people with walking difficulties.

It is necessary to purchase a ticket in advance. Price: 90 kr.

Meeting place: Parking lot at Næsholm, Nygårdsvej, Nykøbing Sj 4500.
