Hear about some of the many exciting things that private individuals have found with a metal detector out there and submitted to the museum. We are the collection of museums that receives the most detector finds in the country. We also hold the Danish record for objects submitted for Dane Fairy assessment!
When private individuals walk around with a metal detector and find something exciting, they fortunately hand it in to us! We actively use the many detector finds in our research, and in this lecture you can hear museum curator and Danish antique dealer Trine Louise Borake talk about some of the many exciting finds.
She unfolds the history, symbolism and people behind some of the most interesting objects we have received, and talks about the trade connections, forms of production and contacts we can trace through the material.
The lecture includes coffee and cake during the break.
